For the 40th time, motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to flock to Port Dover for a biker rally for Friday the 13th.
But it's not going to look the same as previous events. In fact, Norfolk County has declared the rally a "non-event," noting COVID-19 restrictions are still top of mind.
Under Step 3, outdoor social gatherings and public events are limited to a maximum of 100 people.
"It's very difficult for the county to issue any vending permits when were so restricted," said Kristal Chopp, the mayor for Norfolk County.
She said there won't be any food vendors or beer tents, or even live entertainment.
However, there will be porta-potties set up, and road closures in place to help with physical distancing efforts, adding while they're not openly asking bikers to head to the shores of Lake Erie, they know some will be making the trek nonetheless.
For those on roadways and highways Friday morning, OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk is asking drivers to check their blind spots and be cognizant of the fact that there will be increased biker traffic.
