He was one of the toughest players to ever patrol the ice in the Ontario Hockey League, making his way from a Larry Mavety-coached team in Kingston to Sault Ste. Marie, where he won back-to-back championships under Ted Nolan. He would go on to a near-20 year pro career, mostly in Europe, and he even got to don his nation’s jersey at the Olympics…when he suited up for Italy. Oh, and the answer is no. Tony Iob did not try to set another player on fire during an on-ice melee. Not exactly, anyway.
