Four injured, driver arrested after single vehicle crash on Hwy. 401 in Milton

By CityNews Staff

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said four people were hurt in a single vehicle crash that closed all westbound lanes of Highway 401 through Milton Thursday morning.

Two backseat passengers were ejected and suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and front passenger suffered minor injuries. All four occupants were taken to hospital.

OPP said the driver had been arrested and charged with dangerous driving.

The crash itself happened around 1 a.m. Thursday, with the highway closed for over six hours.

It fully reopened between Regional Road 25 and Guelph Line just after 7:30 a.m.

The closure led to major delays on the Thursday morning commute, with traffic especially slow on detour routes including Campbellville Road and Guelph Line.
