Kitchener Rangers nab first home win of the season in iconic fit

The Kitchener Rangers broke out their new alternate Retro Tex Jerseys Sunday while hosting the Kingston Frontenacs.

The classic look was the Rangers’ go-to from 1992-95, and is referred to by the club as “one of the most iconic looks in Rangers’ history.”

The East Avenue crowd had been itching to witness a home ice win this weekend and got what they came for as the Rangers doubled the Frontenacs 6-3.

With no issue finding the back of the net so far this season, Tanner Lam scored twice including the short-handed, game winning goal.

Lam leads the team in scoring so far this season, with five goals over five games.

The Rangers are now 3-and-2 on the early season, splitting their games against Erie on Friday and Saturday.

They’ll be back at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 2 to take on the Saginaw Spirit.

The last time the Rangers faced-off against the Spirit was in the spring, when the Blueshirts swept Saginaw in the first round of the OHL Playoffs.

Puck-drop Friday is 7 p.m.
