Guelph man, woman charged in 2023 death of their infant son

Police in Guelph say they have charged a man and a woman in the death of their infant son in 2023.
The 20-month-old boy was found dead in the family’s apartment near downtown Guelph in late January of that year.
Police say a four-year-old also lived in the home at the time.
Officers say they conducted an extensive investigation into the boy’s death.
Police say they arrested a 36-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from the area on Tuesday.
Investigators say they are each charged with criminal negligence causing death and two counts of failing to provide the necessities of life to a child.
