Arrest made for hate-motivated graffiti at Jewish place of worship in Guelph

A Guelph man is facing charges after police made an arrest for anti-Semitic graffiti found at a Jewish place of worship.

Guelph Police said the graffiti was discovered at the unidentified location on June 19.

A 33-year old was arrested on Canada Day.

He’s facing one count of mischief related to religious property.

Police pointed out that under the criminal code, the graffiti counts as being motivated by hate.

Police did not specify the nature of the graffiti.

The accused man has a court date coming up on Aug. 7.

Investigators are still looking into the matter, and ask anyone who knows anything about what happened to call police at 519-824-1212.
