Rehabilitation work to close Erb’s Road Bridge in Wilmot until November

The Erb’s Road Bridge in Wilmot Township will be fully closed on Monday, April 13, until Oct. 31.

It’s all part of a larger rehabilitation project to improve Erb’s Road between Sandhills Road and the Erb’s Road Bridge.

According to the Region of Waterloo, the work is aimed at improving the safety and quality of the bridge over the Nith River.

The construction will include, replacement of the bridge deck, bearings, railings and other safety upgrades.

During the construction period, detours will be put in place asking residents to use Nafziger Road to Bleams Road to Sandhills Road to get around the closure.

In addition to the Erb’s Road Bridge closure, resurfacing work is planned on Nafziger Road between Erb’s Road and Snyder’s Road during the summer months, lasting about two weeks.

That work is expected to add further delays to the area, so residents are asked to plan accordingly.

More information on the project can be found on the region’s website.
