Earthquake recorded near Orillia, felt as far as Kitchener

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded by Earthquakes Canada near Orillia, Ont. Tuesday night.
The U.S. Geological Survey measured the earthquake at a 4.1 magnitude.
There were no reports of damage, and none would be expected, according to Earthquakes Canada.
It was recorded 23 kilometres ESE of Orillia and just under 100 kilometres north of Toronto at 10:59 p.m.
The website’s “Did you feel it?” link had about 22-hundred reports of people feeling the rumble, from as far west as Kitchener, east through Toronto, and all the way to Belleville, and as far south as Niagara Falls.
The same area has experienced two earthquakes of similar size in the last 25 years.
Social media was abuzz with people commenting that the quake was just the latest challenge for the region, which has recently experienced extreme snow and cold.
