Rangers overcome three-goal deficit, lose close matchup against the Bulldogs

The Kitchener Rangers fought hard to make a three-goal comeback, but came up short against the Brantford Bulldogs on Saturday.

The Bulldogs got the early jump on the Rangers, scoring three goals on three shots in the first six minutes of the game. This led to goaltender Christian Kirsch being pulled and Jason Schaubel going in for relief.

Avry Anstis would get one for Kitchener before the end of the first to make it 3-1. The Rangers came roaring back in the second with two goals to tie it 3-3 from Christian Humphreys and Luca Romano.

Despite their scoring chances in the third, Adam Jiricek put in the eventual game-winner for the Bulldogs, taking the 4-3 win.

Kitchener was on a two-game win streak heading into this game, defeating the Niagara Ice Dogs on Friday and the Oshawa Generals last Sunday.

Moving forward, the Rangers will be looking to regroup as they play host to the Erie Otters on Tuesday for the 30th annual Teddy Bear Toss game.
