‘Suspicious’ male offers candy to children at Cambridge elementary school

It’s a scene right from your mother’s warning.

Police say a suspicious male was reported on school grounds at an elementary school in Cambridge, offering children candy.

It happened on Nov. 27, around 1:30 p.m., when police responded to the Silver Heights area after receiving reports of a suspicious male entering a nearby school property while students were present.

School staff, who were outside at the time, confronted the male and instructed him to leave the premises, police say.

There have been no reports of any threats to safety or any physical injuries.

The man is described as Black, in his early 20s, with curly long hair. He was wearing a large puffy jacket, a black winter hat, and was carrying a skateboard.

Police are looking to identify and speak with the individual.
