Regional police warning of job offer text scams

If you’re looking for a job this holiday season, or are looking to make some extra cash, regional police are out with a warning to the public of an ongoing text scam.

The scam will appear as a text to your phone from an unknown contact, with promises of “easy remote work” with a high pay. These jobs do not exist.

Police say these are attempts by scammers to steal your personal information or money.

They say if you receive a text like this, do not click on the links or reply to the text, report the message as junk and never give out banking or personal details with unknown contacts.
