Teenage driver involved in serious pedestrian crash: WRPS

A woman walking in Wallenstein was seriously injured in a crash on Thursday evening.

Waterloo regional police say the 48-year-old woman was walking in the Herrgott Road and Line 86 intersection of Wellesley Township around 6:45 p.m. when she was hit by a vehicle.

The vehicle in question was heading northbound on Herrgott Road.

She was seriously injured and sent to an out-of-region hospital.

Police said the driver was a 17-year-old boy who was not hurt.

Investigators make no mention of charges at this point, though they did have the intersection partially closed for several hours Thursday.
