Waterloo regional police are still looking for suspects after recovering a stolen vehicle loaded with footwear.
It was around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday when police were called out for reports of a stolen box truck in the area of Townline Road.
Officers managed to find that box truck, but when they tried to pull it over for a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle fled from police.
It wasn’t long afterward, around 10:50 p.m., when officers found that same box truck abandoned in the Sheldon Drive and Lingard Road area.
That truck still had its cargo of footwear; roughly 800 pairs of work boots and work shoes, which investigators believe had previously been stolen.
Staff with the service’s break, enter and vehicle theft Team are still investigating.
