New colours and ‘vibe’ for KW Titans ahead of season

The KW Titans have been cooking up the launch of this season, saying goodbye to the white jerseys players have sported for over a decade.

On Nov. 7, the team and its dignitaries unveiled new colours and an “updated vibes” ahead of the 2025-26 season that kicks off at the end of next month.

“We sat down and spoke to Studio Locale,” Titans CCO Kate Schooley told CityNews Kitchener in an interview. “All of these design elements are their work, and they really considered the history of what the Titans are, the culture of the team, and just something clean and simple.”

One of the logos features a basketball with orange accents and a bright white T in the middle. The jerseys are mostly white with black accents and orange stripes down the sides.

The results are new branding that the team describes as “fun, fresh and hyper-local.”

It has a goal of getting more eyes on Kitchener-Waterloo’s first and only professional sports franchise, the press release from the team reads.

After playing with the London Lightning last year, shooting guard Joel Kindred is back with the Titans and thinks the rebrand brings a “good feeling.”

“It’s always good to have a different feel, different energy, especially coming to a new season,” he said.

On top of new colours, the team is using billboards and bus shelters to bring fans into the experience and ready for the season with catchphrases like “Lock In and Titan Up,” which first originated on the players’ bench.

Another one is “Titans Be Cookin” a play on the team originating in Kitchener (The Kitchen).

David Schooly, owner of the Titans, said some feedback they get from new fans is how exciting the game can be.

“They have no idea how exciting it can be,” he said. “It’s not just about the basketball game, it’s about the other entertainment that we provide.”

The Titans are gearing up for a 27-game schedule set to start on Dec. 27. That also marks the team’s home opener and highlights a new time slot for games, Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
