Man, woman dead after motorcycle crash near Northfield

An afternoon crash north of Conestogo has claimed the lives of two people.

According to Waterloo regional police, officers were called to the Northfield Drive East and Scotch Line Road area on Sunday around 3 p.m. for reports of a crash between a car and a motorcycle.

The two people on the motorcycle, a 59-year-old man and 53-year-old woman, both from Kitchener, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The woman driving the silver car, a 61-year-old woman from Waterloo, was sent to hospital. Her injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

No charges have been laid in connection with the crash at this time.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash, specifically the driver of a white car who may have been in the area at that time.
