Arrest made after alleged youth sexual assault in Kitchener yard

Police made a fast arrest for an alleged sexual assault involving a young girl in the yard of a home in Kitchener.

Regional officers said it happened Sunday afternoon, soon after 3:30, with a report coming in from a female youth.

She told police she had been sexually assaulted by a man while she was out playing with friends in the yard of a home.

Police said she was not physically hurt.

Police sent out messages on social media about what happened and then made the arrest.

Investigators are still looking into what happened.

Police told 570 NewsRadio they will not be releasing any information about the victim’s age or where in Kitchener this happened, out of respect for the family’s privacy.
