Cambridge RedHawks host used equipment giveaway ahead of season opener

The Cambridge RedHawks are celebrating the start of the new hockey season with an event aimed at helping kids get involved in hockey.

The RedHawks are hosting a tailgate party at Soper Park at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the lead-up to the game against the St. Catharines Falcons.

The event will feature a used equipment giveaway for children of all ages. According to the RedHawks, they’ll have used bags, gloves, helmets, skates, and pads of all sizes on hand.

The event runs until 5 p.m., after which the crowd will move over to Galt Arena Gardens for puck drop at 7 p.m.
