Motorcyclist taken to out-of-region hospital following Kitchener crash

One person is in hospital with serious injuries following a motorcycle crash in Kitchener.

Shortly after noon on Friday, Waterloo regional police responded to a collision at the Lancaster Street West and Union Street intersection.

Police confirmed the two vehicle crash consisted of a motorcycle and a car.

The motorcycle was headed northbound and turning left onto Union Street when it was struck by a Jeep headed south on Lancaster Street.

Police say the motorcycle driver, a 64-year-old man, was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, a 58-year-old man, was uninjured.

Lancaster Street West was closed at Union Street for the investigation, along with the Highway 85 exit to Lancaster Street.

Roads reopened as of 3:30 p.m. while the investigation continues.
