Suspicious man approaches 12-year-old girl in Elmira; police investigating

A 12-year-old girl in Woolwich Township was approached by a suspicious man on Tuesday, prompting an investigation from regional police.

According to Waterloo regional police, the incident took place at around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Church Street East and Arthur Street South.

A man driving a vehicle in the area stopped to talk to a girl before driving away.

He’s described as white, between 50 and 60 years old, with short grey hair and balding on the top off his head.

The investigation is ongoing.
