Kitchener crash sends teen cyclist to hospital, police investigating

Regional police are investigating a collision in Kitchener that sent a teenager to hospital.

According to the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), officers responded to reports of a collision between a Toyota and a cyclist near the intersection of Westmount Road East and Ottawa Street South just before 10 p.m.

The cyclist, a 13-year-old from Kitchener, was taken to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was a 23-year-old man from Kitchener. He did not sustain injuries in the incident.

The intersection was closed for several hours for the investigation.
