Wanted man found with drugs, machete and stolen vehicle in Kitchener

Police found more than they might have been expecting when they pulled over a stolen vehicle in Kitchener.

Waterloo regional police said officers spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen, Tuesday afternoon, around the Victoria Street North and Frederick Street area of Kitchener.

The black Honda had gone missing from a Cambridge home on Sunday.

When officers pulled it over in Kitchener, they discovered the driver was wanted on multiple warrants, including break and enter, flight from police, theft of a motor vehicle and more.

Officers also said they found drugs, a machete, and twelve licence plates.

The drugs included what was believed to be meth, plus a quantity of unspecified pills.

Several power tools were also recovered.

New charges were laid against the 28-year-old driver, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, drug possession, and theft-related offences.
