City of Cambridge unveils W.I.T.Y the budget bot

By Erin Anderson

A new public engagement tool is rolling through Cambridge over the next few weeks.

The city has introduced W.I.T.Y. the budget bot.

W.I.T.Y. stands for What’s Important to You and the bot is essentially a mobile survey with a built-in touchscreen.

The survey is gathering feedback to help shape the 2026 municipal budget.

“W.I.T.Y helps us reach people in their everyday spaces, making the budget process more accessible, inclusive, and reflective of our entire community,” said Cambridge Mayor Jan Liggett in a release. “We want to make it as easy as possible for residents to share their thoughts on what matters most to them.”

W.I.T.Y. will be making appearances across the city over the next month or so, including at community centres. Any business owners who want W.I.T.Y. to come by can email corpcomms@cambridge.ca.

More information on W.I.T.Y. can be found by clicking here. The budget survey is also available online until July 31.
