GRCA holding lottery for seasonal camp sites in Ayr

There are a few openings for a popular campground at a local conservation area.

The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) says eight seasonal camp sites have recently become available at Pinehurst Lake in Ayr.

Because it’s such a “hot ticket” item, the GRCA is hosting a special one-time lottery for the spots.

“This is a great chance for campers to enjoy the natural beauty, tranquillity, and outdoor recreation that Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area has to offer — from fishing and hiking to evenings around the campfire,” reads a release from the GRCA.

Typically, a lottery takes place in September for the camp sites because of the overwhelming demand.

Applications for the eight openings can be found online by clicking here, or by visiting the gatehouse at the Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area and filling out a paper version.

The deadline is June 20.
