After an already electric start to a Stanley Cup Finals, the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers are back on the ice, in Florida Monday.
You however can be in Waterloo or Cambridge for the watch parties once again this year.
In Waterloo, the Uptown Waterloo Business Improvement Area (BIA) and City of Waterloo are hosting a live Game 3 Watch Party in Waterloo Public Square.
The party gets underway at 7 p.m., with puck drop at 8 p.m. on a large outdoor screen.
With rain in forecast Monday, the BIA says the event will still go “rain or shine.”
Whether you’re wearing your Oilers orange or blue, or sporting some Panthers gear, you’re being asked to bring your own lawn chair.
The BIA and City of Waterloo will be on the side of the Canadian team.
“This is a chance to come together as a community and rally behind our Canadian team,” says Jeyas Balaskanthan, Executive Director of the Uptown Waterloo BIA.
“This is what community is all about,” says City of Waterloo Mayor Dorothy McCabe. “Coming together in our beautiful uptown to cheer on Canada’s team is a great way to celebrate not just hockey, but the spirit of Waterloo. I encourage everyone to come out, connect with neighbours, and enjoy this uniquely Canadian experience.”
In Cambridge, as it does with most major sporting events, The Gaslight District will be home to a viewing party as well.
From 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. you can take in both Games 3 and 4 this week at District Square.
Heading into Game 3, the series is tied at 1-1. Both Games 1 and 2 have gone to nail-biting overtimes.
