Cambridge man arrested after weeks of ongoing commercial thefts: WRPS

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) has made an arrest following almost two weeks of reported commercial thefts in Cambridge, one of which amassing over $800,000.

The slew of occurrences took place in the city between Apr. 29 and May 12, all centred around businesses in the area of Sheldon Drive.

Officers with the WRPS’ Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft team were finally able to locate and arrest the man on Friday, May 16, in connection with the various reported incidents.


The 38-year-old Cambridge man is now facing 10 different charges, including:

  • Break and Enter (three counts)
  • Trafficking Stolen Property over $5,000 (two counts)
  • Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 (two counts)
  • Identity Theft
  • Possession of Identity Document
  • Possession of Stolen Credit Card

He was also wanted for various outstanding warrants with regional police as well as Peel Region Police for other property offences and for failing to appear in court.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing, with the full investigation still underway.
