One of the brightest stars on the Kitchener Rangers roster is receiving some prestigious silverware ahead of the end of his OHL career.
Blueshirts netminder Jackson Parsons has been name the OHL Goaltender of the Year and is the recipient of the coveted Jim Rutherford Trophy.
“I’d like to thank my goalie coach Jordan DeKort, my incredible teammates and coaches, my family, billets, Ranger Nation and everyone who has supported me,” said Parsons in a press release. “I am so fortunate to have played my entire OHL career with the Kitchener Rangers and my memories of it, and the incredible fan base will stay with me forever.”
Parsons is the first Rangers goaltender to win the award in more than 30 seasons.
The 20-year-old netminder has been the backbone of the Rangers’ season, recording a league-best 37 wins and the Rangers’ single-season goals-against average record with an impressive 2.24 GAA.
He’ll receive the award at the 2025 OHL Awards ceremony, which is set to be held at The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto this June.
The Rangers play Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the London Knights on Wednesday evening.
