Rail work closes portion of Wellington Road 124, traffic delays expected

A road closure is in effect just north of Cambridge on Wellington Road 124 between Township Road 1 and Wellington Road 32.

Canadian National (CN) Railway said it will be conducting emergency rail repairs in the area throughout the day Wednesday.

Drivers will be detoured using Fife Road, just west of Wellington Road 124, with northbound traffic being detoured north on Township Road 1, eastbound on Fife Road, then south on Wellington Road 32, merging back onto 124.

Southbound drivers will, subsequently, be detoured north on Wellington Road 32, westbound on Fife Road, and south on Township Road 1 to merge back onto Wellington Road 124.

Crews have said they hope to have the section of road reopened by 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
