Rangers complete comeback against Sting, extend win streak to four games

It was a classic comeback on Friday night for the Kitchener Rangers as they overcame a two goal deficit to beat the Sarnia Sting 4-3 in overtime.

Sarnia opened the scoring, but Luca Romano made it a tied game before the end of the first period. Two goals by Dylan Luecke and Ryan Brown of Sarnia would give the Sting a 3-1 lead in the second period.

The Rangers answered back with two goals of their own in the third period from Cameron Reid and Jack Pridham. In overtime, it would only take 1:17 for Christian Humphreys to score the game winner. He would get first star honours for the game winning goal and an assist on the night, while Luca Romano received second star honours.

Jason Schaubel was in net for the Rangers for the first of back-to-back games, as Jackson Parsons get the weekend off.

Currently, the Rangers are second overall in the OHL standings with a record of 42-13-4-1, with eight games left on the calendar.

The Rangers are on the road on Saturday, looking to keep their winning streak alive, as they head to Owen Sound to take on the Attack.
