Collision closes rural highway west of Elmira

A collision and road closure could impact commuters heading north of Waterloo Region on Monday morning.

According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Line 86 is closed between Macton and Wallenstein following a collision.

The stretch of road between Wellington Road 12 and Sideroad 19 is closed.

Waterloo Regional Police officers are also on scene investigating the collision.

Police said three vehicles were involved including a van and two transport trucks.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area for the time being.
