Date night? Love for local restaurants in Canada-wide survey

If you and your loved one are feeling a little out-of-touch, and in need of some quality time together, some local restaurants might have just what you need.

A handful of businesses across Waterloo Region are once again featured in OpenTable’s annual list of the “Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in Canada for 2025.”

In Cambridge, the always-popular Cambridge Mill makes the list along with Wildcraft Grill + Long Bar in Waterloo.

In Kitchener, a trio of loveable locations including Charcoal Steak House, Del’s Italian Kitchen and Golf’s Steak House & Seafood.

Over 900,000 reviews including the word or tag “romantic” were considered when compiling the list.

Those planning on booking a table for two this Feb 14., experts say to book sooner rather than later. OpenTable collected data shows 55 per cent of Ontarians are planning to dine out this Valentine’s Day.

“It shows that the way to Canadians’ hearts is through their stomachs,” Matt Davis, Country Director for OpenTable Canada, said. “This year marks a shift beyond the traditional couple celebrations, with group dining and double dates on the menu too.”
