Guelph Police investigating after pedestrian struck by vehicle, airlifted to hospital

A Guelph woman was airlifted to hospital after being stuck by vehicle in the royal city early Thursday morning.
Police said it happened just after 5 a.m. in the area of Woolwich Street South and Speedvale Avenue.
They said early investigations show a Guelph woman in her thirties was walking on the road wearing dark clothing was struck by a vehicle.

The driver, who was not hurt remained on scene and cooperated with police.
Woolwich Street was closed for most of Thursday morning, but reopened around 12:30 p.m.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who as video footage is asked to contact the Guelph Police traffic unit.
