Teen, adult from Kitchener killed in Grey County crash; other teen injured

Two people from Kitchener, including a teenager, have died in a collision in Grey County, and police are urgently seeking witnesses.

The Grey Bruce detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police say it happened soon after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, at Grey Road 9 and Southgate Sideroad 71, just west of Dundalk.

That’s about 100 kilometres, or a one hour drive, north of Kitchener.

Police say a 49-year-old and a 15-year-old, both from Kitchener were killed in a two-vehicle crash between a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle.

A 19-year-old also sustained serious injuries and was treated at a local hospital — police do not specify where they are from.

Police did not identify the victims out of respect for family privacy.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and there’s no word yet about how it happened or if charges might be laid.

For now, police need to hear from witnesses, especially anyone with dashcam video from that area, Monday morning.
