Strong Rangers’ power play not enough to stop Sarnia
Back-to-back 3-2 losses for the Kitchener Rangers.
Following a defeat to London Sunday, the Rangers also went down 3-2 against the Sarnia Sting on Wednesday night.
The rare Wednesday night match-up in Sarnia saw the East Avenue Blue come out strong with a 2-0 lead in the first, both of those goals nabbed on the power play.

It’s worth noting, Sarnia has the worst penalty kill in the league at 11 per cent. But despite the statistics, the Sting would push back with three unanswered goals.
570 NewsRadio Colour Commentator Paul Fixter says if you’re going to win in this league, you have to earn it.
“I’ve always said, when you lose, don’t lose a lesson. Tonight’s lesson certainly was a lack of work ethic in the coach’s eyes, and that resulted in back-to-back losses for the Rangers, which we haven’t seen from the Rangers hockey club. The message was very stern from the coach, I think we’ll see a much better work ethic come Friday.”
The Ottawa 67’s are in town Friday.
Puck-drop is 7 p.m. at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Broadcast time on 570 NewsRadio with Mike Farwell and Paul Fixter is 6:30 p.m.
Friday’s game will the last game before the Christmas break.
