Kitchener winning streak stifled in London
The Kitchener Rangers have had their impressive seven-game winning streak ended by the London Knights, in a 3-2 loss at Canada Life Place Arena.
It was a comeback battle for the blue shirts on Sunday afternoon, with London putting up two goals in the first, answered by a lead-splitter by right winger Adrian Misaljevic.
570 Colour Commentator Paul Fixter praised Misaljevic’s performance, as he said he’s hopeful to see more from the “streaky-scorer.”

“Nice to see Misaljevic get on the scoresheet – it’s been a while for him: he’s a goal scorer, and he’s a bit of a streaky-scorer so hopefully that ignites him into scoring on a regular basis for the Rangers.” said Fixter. “They need his scoring: he gets those top minutes, he gets powerplay time: I think we’re going to see him continue to fill the net.”
Despite the first-period rally, it wasn’t enough for Kitchener – with Knights centre Jacob Julien putting another in the back of the net during the second period, answered in the third by Jack Pridham.
Fixter noted that the Rangers made it clear that they weren’t going to be pushed around by the Knights roster.
“Kitchener had a big lineup tonight – on the fourth line they had Hlacar, LaBrash and Vermeulen… some pretty big boys there.” said Fixter. “Hlacar was looking to take care of business out there tonight, he did a real good job. Kitchener was not going to be physically intimidated by London, which quite often happens in this building. I think that’s a good sign on a go-forward basis.”
The Kitchener Rangers will look to return to the win column on Wednesday, capping off their two-game road swing in Sarnia against the Sting.
