Kitchener Rangers host Greyhounds, three star players named to OHL prospects game

The Kitchener Rangers are going for five wins in a row, taking on the Soo Greyhounds at The Aud on Friday night.

The Blueshirts are looking for their fifth straight victory, and currently sit second in the OHL with 41 points.

The Greyhounds are right at .500 this season, and are in 13th place in the league with 13 wins and 13 losses on the year.

The Greyhounds have had a hard time finding the back of the net, having scored just 75 goals so far this season, the second-lowest total in the OHL.

One bright spot for the Soo has been their star defenceman Andrew Gibson. He’s been invited to the Team Canada National Junior Team Selection Camp with a chance to go to the IIHF tournament this holiday season.

In team news, three Blueshirts have been named to represent the Western Conference at the inaugural Conor McDavid OHL Top Prospects game.

The game will feature 42 OHL players on the radar of NHL scouts, and that includes Rangers stars Adrian Misaljevic, Luca Romano, and Cameron Reid.

On Saturday, the Rangers head down to Winsor to take on the third-place Spitfires.
