The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have “bagged” a litterbug after several bags of garbage were dumped on a country road near Stratford.
Perth OPP began the investigation on Nov. 4 when a report came in about garbage in the grass along Road 122, north of the Festival City.
Police sent out photos of garbage bags, plastic bottles, and cardboard boxes stuffed with debris, laying in the reeds and grass beside a farm field and laneway.
One month after the case was opened, officers put a twist tie on the investigation and made an arrest.
A 26-year old from Stratford was charged with two counts of littering on a highway.
Police remind everyone that dumping trash on the roadside can attract wild animals, put surface water at risk, and could become a hazard for other drivers.
