Man accused of sexually assaulting a woman on city bus might have also touched girls

Guelph Police say a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman on a city bus, might have also been touching girls on buses in recent years.

Police say they arrested a 74-year-old Guelph man back in late October for the sexual assault of a woman in her 50s who was riding a Guelph Transit bus.

The woman told police she was inappropriately touched by a man she didn’t know.

Investigators now believe this same man was involved in similar incidents on buses in which a 12-year-old, and a 13-year-old girl, each reported being touched or spoken to inappropriately on a city bus.

Those incidents occurred in 2022 and 2023.

Police say that man “was described as possibly Indian with a long white beard and turban.”

Investigators would now like to hear from anyone who’s had a similar experience.

They can call Guelph Police at 519-824-1212, ext. 7452, or reach out anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by clicking here.
