Rangers welcome Bulldogs for annual Teddy Bear Toss

It’ll be an exciting matchup for hockey and a great one for spreading cheer as the Kitchener Rangers host the annual Teddy Bear Toss during the game against the Brantford Bulldogs.

The Blue Shirts are coming off a hot win over the Guelph Storm on Dec. 1, with Cameron Reid scoring his fifth goal of the season to help the Rangers to a 3-2 overtime victory.

The Rangers are right on the heels of the Windsor Spitfires, currently sitting in third place across the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and the Western Conference, also holding second place behind the London Knights in the Mid-West Division. Kitchener sits just one point back of Windsor in the league and the conference.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs sit in twelfth place in the OHL and 12 points behind the Rangers, seventh place in the Eastern Conference, and third place in the East Division.

It won’t just be a big night for the players though, with it being the 29th annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by Canadian Tire Jumpstart.

Fans are encouraged to bring in their new bears to the game, throwing them onto the ice after the Rangers’ first goal. The bears will then be collected and donated to local charitable organizations ahead of the holiday season.

Since the event first began in 1995, a total of 190,791 bears have been donated.
