Blowing snow Wednesday, weather advisory issued

Another burst of winter weather is headed toward Waterloo Region with a blowing snow advisory in effect for Wednesday.

Environment Canada said there is the potential for snow and moderate wind gusts beginning early Wednesday morning. Winds could be 70 km/h at times and the conditions could persist into the evening hours.

The combination of the snowy, windy weather may reduce visibility on roadways and travel could become hazardous.

The situation may be more severe in areas that just received significant snowfall.

Many Ontario communities were hit with severe weather late Sunday into Monday.

In Waterloo Region, 14 cm of snow was recorded in the Stanley Park area of Kitchener as of 9 p.m. Sunday.

This latest system is expected to bring 5 to 10 cm of snow on Wednesday alone.
