Guelph Police contacted by INTERPOL about a local teen’s “joke” posting about a school shooting
It’s not very often that Guelph Police get contacted by INTERPOL, but it happened this week when a local teen allegedly made a social media post about a school shooting.
Police say they were contacted by the European police agency, around 5:30 Monday afternoon.
INTERPOL had noticed a Snapchat story referencing a school shooting.

Officers spoke with the teen, with her mother in the room.
Police say the teen “was very remorseful and stated the comment was intended only as a joke.”
Guelph Police remind everyone to be careful about what they post on socials, because words can be misinterpreted, and cause concern.
