KW Oktoberfest announces new ambassador on final weekend of events

KW Oktoberfest has its next ambassador!

Katie Kneisel was the winner chosen from several contenders, announced on Saturday on the final weekend of this year’s festive event.

The 26-year-old is described as an aspiring teacher and learning specialist.

Kneisel recently finished her undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, in Kinesiology and Physical Education, with a minor in Educational Psychology.

She’ll be attending teachers college in the coming year.

Kneisel says in a statement the festival “is not only a celebration of culture but also an opportunity to connect with others and foster a sense of belonging.”

She wants to use her role as ambassador “to spread positivity throughout our community while inspiring others to embrace diversity, be present in the moment and cultivate compassion for one another.”
