Clinic opening near downtown Kitchener to offer sexual health services, vaccines

A new clinic opening on Wednesday will offer a number of important health services near Kitchener’s downtown core.

The clinic is located in the Region of Waterloo building located at 20 Weber St., and features six accessible clinic rooms, close to the LRT and GRT bus routes.

At first, the clinic will only offer vaccines and sexual health services by appointment, but they have plans to expand their services to include dental screening and baby feeding appointments in the future.

“Region of Waterloo Public Health provides residents with inclusive, accessible and culturally safe health services that support the overall wellbeing of the community,” said Regional Chair Karen Redman in a press release.

“This new Public Health clinic is a testament to the work the Region does to provide residents access to service in spaces and places that fit their needs,” adds Redman.

“This central location is ideal for a Public Health clinic that provides easy access to important health services,” says Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Medical Officer of Health for the Region of Waterloo in a press release.

A grand opening is planned for the space in January, 2025.
