OPP pull over Kitchener teen driving at more than double the speed limit
A 17-year-old from Kitchener has learned a hard lesson about stunt driving, and an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was the teacher.
Officials have posted a photo on X of a blue car, pulled over on the shoulder of a roadway, Sunday night, saying the young driver was clocked driving at 172 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
That’s more than twice the speed limit.
It happened at an unspecified location in the Township of Perth East.
According to the post, the teen lost their driver’s licence for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
“Driving is a privilege, not a right! Traffic safety is everyone’s responsibility,” OPP added.
