Guelph Police investigating stabbing, one man taken to hospital
Guelph Police are investigating a possible stabbing that took place in the Royal City over the weekend.
According to police an officer, was in the area of Edinburgh Road South and Chancellors Way on Saturday night shortly after 9 p.m. when he was approached by a male who said he’d been stabbed in the abdomen.
Officials have said the man is from Etobicoke and was taken to hospital for treatment.

They said the incident followed an altercation with a pair of unknown males. According to Guelph Police, the suspects were possibly one white male and one light-skinned black male wearing black clothing and medical masks at the time of the incident.
Police say the victim travelled to Guelph to participate in a large, unsanctioned gathering attended by thousands during University of Guelph’s homecoming celebrations in the Chancellors Way area.
A number of Liquor License Act charges were laid at the unsanctioned gathering, and several people were taken to hospital due to intoxication.
