‘There’s a buzz’: Puck drops on new Kitchener Rangers season

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

The Kitchener Rangers welcome the Erie Otters to the friendly confines of the Aud.

Expectations are high for a club that delivered last season, making it to the second round of the playoffs with a team that wasn’t expected to contend for another year or so.

Joe Birch, Chief Operating Officer for the Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club told The Mike Farwell Show that fans have lots to look forward too.

“We go into it (the season) very positive and optimistic in what we hope to achieve this year, knowing that we’re still building. There’s a buzz here. We’re excited about that buzz and we can’t wait for fans to see it.”

Birch said when it comes to junior hockey, you really don’t know what can happen: all it takes is for a couple of breaks to go your way and next thing you know you’re in contention.

There are two games for the Rangers on opening weekend. After tonight’s contest, they’ll make the trip down the 401 to take on the Spitfires in Windsor, on Saturday night.

Game time tonight at the Kitchener Auditorium is 7:00, p.m. Mike Farwell & Paul Fixter will have the pregame show starting at 6:30 on 570 News Radio Kitchener and kitchener.citynews.ca.
