Woman arrested for attempted murder after child found with life-threatening injuries

A Woolwich woman has been arrested and charged for attempted murder after a child was found with life-threatening injuries.
According to Waterloo Regional Police, officers responded to a request for a wellness check at a home in St. Jacobs on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
When they arrived, officials found a 10-year-old boy with serious, life-threatening injuries. He was taken to an out-of-region hospital by paramedics.

The 39-year-old woman was found with non-life-threatening injuries, arrested for attempted murder, and taken to an out-of-region hospital.
The woman and child are believed to be known to each other.
The investigation is ongoing, and the woman is being held in police custody for a bail hearing.
