Police weapons raid in Kitchener turns up guns, thousands of bullets, and drugs

A weapons raid in Kitchener yielded more for Waterloo Regional Police than they were expecting.

The Drugs and Firearms Unit had a search warrant in hand when they raided a residence at an unspecified location, Wednesday.

The investigation was for unsafe storage of firearms.

Police say they seized four long guns, one handgun, four illegal ammo magazines, and several thousand rounds of ammunition.

But they also allegedly found several hundred illegal pills.

In the end, a 43-year-old Kitchener man was charged with nine weapons offences, plus two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
