Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a five-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert has been found safe.
The alert, which was issued this morning around 4 a.m. ET, said the boy had gone missing from Brossard, Que., a community in the Greater Montreal Area.
OPP confirmed the boy was found safe on Tuesday morning in York Region. A police spokesperson indicated investigators believed the pair were heading to the Toronto area after the Amber Alert was sent out.

Authorities are questioning the 65-year-old woman alleged to have taken the child from Brossard. It’s unclear if she will face charges.
An Amber Alert is set in motion when a child has been reported abducted and is believed to be in danger.
