COVID outbreak declared at Guelph General Unit

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Guelph General Hospital.

Guelph General Hospital announced the outbreak on Aug. 22 and said it was affecting its East 4 unit. Two patients in the unit reportedly acquired COVID while in the hospital.

Guelph General Hospital said it is taking several infection control steps like conducting testing, closing the impacted unit to visitors, and increasing cleaning.

This comes after the hospital reintroduced some masking rules at the start of the month.
