Three injured, charges anticipated following collision in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a serious collision that occurred in the Sportsworld area of Kitchener on Thursday.

Emergency services responded to that call around 7:25 p.m. in the area of King Street East near Sportsworld Drive, for reports of a crash between a Jeep and a Mitsubishi.

Police say the person behind the wheel of the jeep, identified as a 38-year-old Cambridge man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two occupants of the involved Mitsubishi were also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including the 83-year-old Kitchener man driving the vehicle, and a passenger.

While the investigation is still ongoing, police have said that charges are anticipated.

That crash closed the intersection for several hours, but has since been reopened to traffic.
